update on the voice
i did get a little of my voice back on thursday, but woke up friday morning feeling like death. mamie woke up around 3:30 friday morning coughing her head off as well. So we both have colds now. i should have gone to the doctor like i said i would, but i didn't. kyle and nolan went to the baseball game last night and from what i hear nolan had a blast. i guess i will have to start learning the game of baseball. mamie and i hung out together, went to target and to micheals. we had popcorn and ice cream for dinner. i know, what a healthy dinner, but we didn't know what we wanted. we came back home and circled up in my bed to watch a movie. when kyle walked in mamie and i were coughing and he said he would just sleep in mamie's bed because he didn't want to be in the sick room. i got up this morning and felt like i had been ran over by a mack truck. mamie said she felt the same way. mamie, nolan and i took a very long nap this afternoon, while kyle went over to some friends to help cut fire wood. well, we are off to get ice cream to make everyone feel better.

Still no voice..........
I still can't talk that well, but I am heading to MEA in the morning to get something done about it. My chest is hurt some and the bottom of my throat is not feeling to good either. I tried not to talk today, but that just didn't happen. I am worn out just trying to get across to some people what I needed to say to them. Thank goodness I don't have a job anymore where I have to answer the phone from 8 - 5. I did have to talk on the phone a couple of times, but nothing like I had to in my old job. So I am hoping that tomorrow morning the doctor will give me a shot and all this will be over soon.
This goes out to all the VBS teachers from First Baptist Madison that reads my blog. MAMIE IS HAVING THE TIME OF HER LIFE THIS WEEK. When we pick her up she has a new story to tell about what happen at VBS that day.... A big thank you goes out to each and everyone of you for all your hard work!!! I am hoping that I will be able to be apart of it next year.

A LITTLE SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER
This morning I woke up took a shower and was getting ready for work. Kyle started asking me something and I tried to answer him and nothing came out. I had no voice. I had a starchy throat last Monday and Tuesday, then Saturday I woke up coughing a little and then Sunday had a full blown coughing fit in the shower. Yesterday when I coughed it would hurt my chest and then I could taste that drainage in back of my throat, YUCK is all I can say about that. So I woke up this morning unable to talk. My coworkers were like doesn't that hurt, I said "no, I just don't have a voice". This afternoon when we were going to Mamie's gymnastics class (pictures to come) I told Kyle if he would drop me off to watch Mamie, then he could go to the store and get potatoes for potato soup and stuff for cornbread, then that is what we would have for supper. He said "that is fine with me". When I was a little girl grandmother Mamie would make me potato soup and cornbread if I wasn't feel so good and it always made me feel so much better. So I fixed yummy cream potato soup and cornbread for dinner. I am not sure how it happens but it does make me feel a little better. Just wish grandmother Mamie was here to fix it for me. It doesn't taste the same. I still don't have my voice back, hopefully tomorrow.

Oh, I have to share this cute little story Mamie told me last night. Mamie is going to our VBS and this is how the conversation went:
Mamie: Momma guess who I saw today at church?
Me: Who did you you see today at church honey?
Mamie: You know that old man that talks on that stage in big girl church.
Me: "what old man honey".
Mamie: You know that old man that just talks and talks about God and things and walks around talking to everyone
Me: I said "oh you are talking about the preacher"
Mamie: Yea, that is him. I saw him today.
I laughed to myself and thought well I don't think Brother Ronnie is that old, but I guess to a 5 1/2 year old, he is. I just wonder if she thinks I am old......
Another story she told me today when I picked her up from VBS:
Mamie: Momma guess whose hand I got to hold today?
Me: I don't know, tell me.
Mamie: The preachers hand Momma, and he is so nice......
We were walking out and Brother Ronnie was trying to get children to the correct cars and I guess he thought I was a helper and he asked me if I have the correct children for the correct car and I said "oh she belongs to me". He said "oh that is great we got the correct child with the correct parent". You had to be there, but it was funny at the time. It is wild at pick up time. Anyway, Mamie said "momma that is the old man I saw yesterday and the man I got to hold hands with today". She was smiling from ear to ear saying all this. I am so glad that she is able to go to our VBS this week and I am so glad that God called Brother Ronnie to us and I am so glad that Mamie sees him as a wonderful man. When she talks about him she has a huge smile on her face and she just talks and talks about him. When I was a little girl I had a preacher that I looked up to. In fact Brother John married Kyle and I. I loved him so much, I remember looking up to him the very same way Mamie looks up to Brother Ronnie. Big eyes and a huge smile. It can't get any better than that.

A NEW MAGAZINE FOR MAMIE......
After picking up children today Mamie, Nolan and I had to run some errands. I had to take some clothes and stuff to Bargain Bouquet, get something to eat and then pick up some can goods for VBS week. We went to Kroger Nolan got some Strawberry milk syrup, you know the kind of stuff you put in your milk and it turns it Chocolate, well Nolan loves the Strawberry kind and Mamie about had a fit because Nolan was getting something and she wasn't (I am sure you all go through this) so she said "remember that magazine I wanted last night" (which was Saturday morning) and I said "I don't remember which one it was, but if you show me I will get it for you since I didn't get it for you last Saturday". Now let me clear something up, this goes on all the time, he got something so I get something, but they don't always get it. O.K. back to the magazine story. So we go to where all the magazines are and Mamie starting yelling "THERE IT IS, THERE IT IS" Nolan starting yelling "Mamie you being loud, you hurt my head." I just laughed, people were just looking at me and I really felt like saying, "like you never have seen a child get so happy over something as small as a magazine". They had those looks on their faces like can't you do something with your children. I didn't care about those other people, I just enjoyed the moment of my two children laughing and having fun. O.K. I am sure everyone is waiting on the big ending hold on tight girls, I am sure this will bring back memories to many of you. Doesn't she look so happy? She has been looking at it since we got home and I am sure she will look at it more tomorrow. She doesn't know how to read yet, but she is having fun looking at all the pictures. It even has SIX posters in it. You ask if she will be hanging them in her room? The answer is "NO"........

Finally our trip pics and 10 years together....
Well, back on May 30th Kyle and I had our 10 year anniversary. We have been together for longer than that, but married for 10 years now. I don't know where to even start to tell anyone about how I feel about Kyle, he is everything to me. He walked into my life when I needed him the most and I will be forever grateful for that. I get butterflies when he walks into a room, or when he used to show up at my other job and I didn't realize he had court, or when I am sitting outside in the afternoons with Mamie and he just happens to appear. You know that feeling about the first time you see that guy you want to go out with across the room and you just go a little crazy until you finally talk to him. I could go on, but I think you get the picture about how I feel about Kyle. Anyway, we had our anniversary trip back in May and we had a wonderful time. We left New Orleans May 25th flew to Houston and then on to Cancun. We then took a van to Playa de Carmen which is about an hour ride to our resort. We got there late Sunday afternoon checked in and went strait to the beach. The rest of the week went something like this, wake up get breakfast, go to beach, play in the water, go back to room shower get ready for dinner, eat, watch an outdoor show at the resort, go back to room fall asleep and then wake up to do it all over again. Wednesday we did rent a car and go do some site seeing, but other than that we didn't do one thing that we didn't want to do.... Here are some pictures from our trip. I am ready to go back......
This is out by the pool over looking the beach........
Our resort at night....Everything was open air..............
The BIG car we rented!!!!!!
Swimming in the caves. Let me tell you something folks, the water was freezing. This was way to cool!!!
This overlooks the beach from a restaurant at the resort. This is also where they had a couple of weddings take place. The bride walked down to the beach to meet her husband to be..
This was the last night we were there and our anniversary May 30th. Two restaurants were open air ones and we ate at one of them twice because it was so good. It was raining so hard this night, so we went back to the room and sat out on our patio and watched it rain and boy did it rain.

Horseflies in the Kitchen.......
This story is one of those stories where you have to be there when it happens, but I will try my best to make that you were there when all of this was going on. Not too long ago I went and put something in my car and came back in, it only took a second or two to do it, but....... I heard something buzzing all around the kitchen and hitting walls, but couldn't find what it was. Out of nowhere Mamie started screaming then Nolan started crying. I found it, it was a BIG HORSEFLY on the over head light. They were sitting at the bar eating some cereal. Anyway, I yelled to Kyle to come get it and he said "I will in a second". Well, in that long second Mamie was screaming so loud the dog started barking and Nolan started screaming, crying and laughing all at once. The horsefly started flying every where, I guess trying to get out of the kitchen because of all the noise and then the children went crazy. I was laughing so hard, you just can't help but laughing, because here sitting a little girl that will pick up frogs, lizards, touch a snake and any other living thing, then you have a little boy, yes I said "boy" that will not touch anything as of the sort and he was just crying watching this BIG HORSEFLY fly right in front of him. While all the time he was watching it with his eyes so wide they could have popped out of his head. I told Mamie to run into the den, the horsefly at that time was in the door way going into the den, Mamie flew off the bar stool screaming. I told Nolan to do the same and he was saying "no, no, no" oh, did I tell you that there was another one that flew out from behind something, well you got it more screaming and crying. Kyle finally came in to try to get it and Nolan's legs where wrapped around the bar stool and I couldn't peel him off of the stool. After Kyle got the horseflies we were in the bathroom brushing teeth and getting ready for bed, Nolan looks up at Kyle with wide eyes and ask "they bit children daddy", Kyle couldn't answer the question from laughing so hard. I am still laughing because you should have seen the eyes of these two children when these two big horseflies came flying by their heads.
Trip pictures are coming. I was going to do that yesterday after church, but we had to travel to Wiggins because Kyle's great uncle passed away last Friday late afternoon after along battle of kidney failure. It was either last Monday or Tuesday Uncle Tucker told his family that he was not going to take treatment anymore that he just wanted to hurry up and get to heaven. I didn't know Uncle Tucker, but from all the stories that Kyle has shared with me today and through the years he was was a wonderful man. He loved hunting, fishing and life. Kyle, his older brothers and older sister were very close to Uncle Tucker and I know that this man will be missed by them and everyone that was there today. So please be in prayer for Uncle Tucker Bond's family and friends as they all will need it in the days and weeks to come.

IT IS GOOD TO BE HOME.............
Well, we are home from our long trip. My pictures are all downloaded and ready to go on a new post, but I have to get clothes washed, go to the store and get children ready for tomorrow. We had a wonderful trip just doing nothing. I said we were going to do nothing and that is what we did all week. From what I understand Mamie and Nolan had a wonderful week with the grandparents. I think they played in the water the entire time. Anyway, I will have to post tomorrow. Welcome back to reality................
