OFF WE GO!!!!!

Tomorrow we will be leaving for Wiggins, MS to see our niece and nephew graduate from high school. Then Kyle and I will drive to New Orleans Saturday afternoon and leave Sunday May 25th for Cancun. We will actually be staying in Playa del Carmen, but from what I understand it is only 40 mins. from Cancun. The children will be staying with my mom/dad for the first couple of days and then they will be staying with Kyle's mom/dad until we return. We will return to New Orleans on Saturday May 31st. We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary May 30th and then we both turn the BIG 40 this year. Kyle in August and me in October. We are really looking forward to going on our big trip, we well should I say that I have been planning this for some time now and it has finally gotten here. Mamie and Nolan are excited to be going on their little vacation and the grandparents are glad to have them. Let's just hope they survive the week with two children. I talked to dad the other night and he was telling me everything they have planned and it sounds like they will have a wonderful time. Please be in prayer for all of us the next couple of days. See ya'll when we get back.................

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR MAMIE......

Mamie was so excited today because it was her last day of school. These last couple of weeks she has been counting down the days. She says that she couldn't wait until the last day, but I really think she will miss some of her friends. I know she will keep in-touch with a few, because she has already told me she is planning a play date for her school friends. Below is picture of Mamie this morning. I don't have the picture of the first day of school on my work computer, but I have it on my home computer. I will have to post them side by side later because she has changed so much over the last 10 months it is unbelievable. I was going to put her in the same outfit that she wore on the first day, but she wanted to wear this one. I just can't believe she will be in the 1st grade in just what 3 short months. Here are a couple pictures I wanted to post just because I thought they were cute....

Hanging out with daddy at the USA girls softball game..... (check out my cute baseball shorts my mommy made for me) Doing a little slip-n-side.......We were so sleepy........... (yes, mommy made these pirate shorts as well)
Handing out in the sun...

I live for baseball........ (another pair of cute shorts mommy made for me)

Watching a ladybug crawl on Mamie's arm....... (oh, and yes mommy made me some dirt bike shorts too)

MOTHER'S DAY 2008 PART 2!!!!!

O.K. I have thought about this all day long now and I feel bad about saying some of the stuff that I said in my last post. I am only human when I have those feelings. It is that we as mothers never get a day off. There are just things that mothers do that only mothers can do. My sweet husband is building a flower bed for me right now. Mamie, Nolan and Max (the dog) are all helping him do it. I am thankful for every moment of being a mother and I am so thankful that God made this possible for me to be a mother. I know some people that do not have this privilege and it hurts when I think that they we will never experience the kind of love from a child like I do. The hugs in the morning, the tears that I try to mend or those four little words that I love to hear "I LOVE YOU MOMMY" and the list goes on and on. Anyway, I did have a happy mother's day and again I will be able to do what I want to do tomorrow and not have to worry about anything until 1:45 p.m. or so. That is the time when Ms. Mamie has informed me she wants me to pick her up from school. I will do as she ask and I will also pick up Nolan (after nap of course) and spend the afternoon being a mom. Those days are just so far and few when a mother works full time.

MOTHER'S DAY 2008!!!!!

I kind of have to laugh at the term of "Mothers Day". Why if it is mother's day, I got up made coffee, ironed the children's clothes for church, got one child ready for church and even took the dog out, which I might add I don't like doing and told husband this when SANTA brought it a year ago. While all this was going on husband was still sleeping, got up played on the computer, drank a cup of coffee, took shower and at least got one child ready for church. We went to church and it was a wonderful service, husband took us out to eat and now we are home watching girls softball let me add that I can't stand softball. Again, I laugh at "MOTHER'S DAY". Why are we doing everything husband wants to do. Now husband gets a call from a friend that has a Harley Davidson motor cycle that is about to come over for HIM to ride today. My "MOTHER'S DAY" will come tomorrow when I don't have to go to work and I GET TO DO WHAT I WANT TO DO with nobody here I have to watch after. Does this mean on "FATHER'S DAY" mothers get to do what we want to do? I really don't think that will happen. Oh, well I am going to enjoy my day anyway, enough though if it means me still doing MOTHER things that have to be done.

ABOUT ME and OTHER THINGS!!

I didn't have too much to post, so I thought I would do a post about me. So here it goes.

I am originally from Pascagoula, MS. October 7, 1968 to Jim and Linda Epting. Lived in only two house, one on River Road and the other on Westwood. The house on River Road was right across from the Pascagoula river. We would go crabbing all the time. I loved that house. We moved to the one on Westwood when I was in second grade. I lived there until I moved to Jackson in 1989. Mother and Dad have sold it due to the storm and they live up in the country now. They live in my grandparents house, my father's parents. I don't like going back there that much anymore, just not home anymore. Don't get me wrong I loving going to visit Mother and Dad, it is just kind of weird because it is a different set of memories that I hold at the "FARM HOUSE". I still can see my grandfather stand waving to us as we are driving up the drive way and then my grandmother hollering it is time for lunch better come now while it is still hot. Plus, going horse back riding every chance we had and picking cherries from the cherry tree.

I am the baby of the family. I have two older sisters one that lives in Oxford, MS and the other that lives in Monroe, LA.

When I was younger I loved to go sailing. I would take sailing lessons every summer and just loved it. That and tennis. I went home at Easter and was looking through some of my old stuff and came across a calender. I forget what the year was, but I had to laugh, because I think by the time school was out for the summer until it started it in fall I was either sailing or playing in a tennis tournament. Kind of funny how things change, you could not catch me on a small sail boat if it was the last thing on this earth to do. A big boat yes, but not a small one...

Being from the coast, you all might laugh at this, but I have never been on a shrimp boat before. When I met Kyle he would call me shrimp picker. I have tried to tell him that I have never been on a shrimp boat before and I don't think he believes me to this day. My oldest sister dated a guy and they would go out the shrimp boats all the time. She said it was always so neat to see what the nets would bring in.

I don't like to drive. I will drive of course because I have too, but I don't like to drive if I don't have to.

I love to sew. I wish I had more time to do it though. I have some cute fabric to make Mamie and Nolan some things. I just don't seem to find the time to sit down and do it. Maybe this week coming up.

I love to take pictures. This is something that in the last couple of years I have really loved to do. Again, time!!!! I wish I had time to go out and do it. What I should do is take one weekend and do things that I like to do, but the sad part is if that happens then the things that need to be done wouldn't get done........

I love to cook. In my next house I will look for a very big kitchen on the floor plans. You can only fit about 4 people in mine right now.

I have kept in touch with two of my best friends. We have been friends since the 7th grade. We have been in each others weddings, kept up with each other through the years, cried on the phone to one another and just been there when you need your friends. I have made tons of girls friends while living in Jackson and I will hopefully be friend with them until the day I die as well.

My parents are only children. I am sure you all wanted to know that.......

My oldest sister has a son with blond hair and blue eyes. My middle sister has a little girl with blond hair and blue eyes and I have a little girl that has blond hair and blue eyes. Weird thing is they all HAD curly, curly hair when they were younger. Now their hair is straight. Of course I can't live out Nolan, he has brown hair and big brown eyes.

I picked my little girls name out when I was in junior high and I dared anyone to use it. She as many of you know is named after my grandmother. God rest her soul.

I don't like bad weather. When I hear that we might have bad weather, I get all stressed out. I don't know if others can see it in me, but I really get stressed about it.

I was in a very bad car wreak years ago and still have nightmares about it.

I love being a mother, a wife, a sister and a friend.

I like to garden. I am not that good at it, but I like to do it.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE so good seafood and of course crawfish. I could eat crawfish until I am blue in the face. I have tried to do that before and couldn't sleep because I was so full from eating go much.

I met Kyle in Divorce Court. Ha, Ha. I was working at Hinds County Chancery Court and he was in Law School........

I could go on, but I have to stop now and shut my eyes. How boring is this post?

OH TO ALL YOU MOTHERS THAT READ THIS: HOPE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!

BOOM, BANG AND HIGH WINDS

I am not sure if any of you are aware of what happen around 3:00 a.m. this morning, so let me recount what happen at my house and the funny part is NOBODY in my family, but me heard it. It started out with high winds and then lighting like you wouldn't believe. Thunder came right after the lighting like it was right inside with you. I just knew that Mamie and Nolan would be running into the bed room and jump in bed with us. I couldn't sleep, the first sound of high winds woke me up and I couldn't go back to sleep until it was over. Which I don't remember when that was, but I think it was around 5:00 this morning. Kyle has just woken up so I asked him if he heard all the rain last night and he said "NO". Then I asked Mamie if she heard the rain and she said "Oh, it rained." We took Max out this morning and she was very surprised to see that it did indeed rain and said "well we don't have to water the flowers this morning". I still can't believe nobody heard what I heard this morning. I know one family that was up though. The Young Family was, they have a big black Germany Shepard that goes crazy when it starts raining, high windy, loud thundering and lighting and I am sure the the children were right there with the dog (in their bed). Anyway, I glad that it has turned out to be a wonderful day, so everyone get out and enjoy it. That is our plans for the day, that and eating some crawfish!!!!!!!
