FEELING OH SO MUCH BETTER!!!

Mamie had to stay home yesterday because she had ran fever all day Sunday and Sunday night. As many of you know you can't go to school until the fever has gone away for 24 hours. We Ms. Mamie woke up yesterday in good spirits and feeling fine. In fact she was bouncing off the walls. She played outside, ran around with Max and laughed until she couldn't laugh any longer. I was folding clothes and cleaning up a little and she wanted some music on. So I turned on some music for her and this is what she came out with. She was playing and singing her little heart out. I am so glad that she is feeling better.........

A TRIP TO THE AFTER HOURS CLINIC...............

Well, as you can see from the post below Mamie hasn't been feeling well this weekend. I finally got her to sleep last night and she woke up around 3:30 a.m. telling me her throat was hurting very bad. She wasn't running anymore fever around that time either. She again woke up around 6:00 burning up and saying her throat was hurting again. You could tell something was wrong, just by the way she was talking, it was kind of brassy sounding. I gave her some ibuprofen and she went back to sleep, just to wake up again a couple of hours later running fever. Well, we went to the after hour clinic and sure enough she has STREP. The doctor said that they have had a ton of children coming through with strep this weekend. We got the meds and she is on the right track to recovery. I am amazed at one thing she is over there just playing, laughing and just having a ball. You would never know that she is sick. I am only sad because she has to miss school tomorrow of course she is excited about staying home tomorrow. This child hasn't missed one day of school since she started last August. I am glad that tomorrow is a holiday for me and I don't have to use another day off.

101.0 and going up

Mamie woke up this morning saying that her head hurt, I didn't think too much about it. She and Kyle were going to take Max to the vet for something and before she left she kept saying her head hurt, I told her to go brush her teeth and I would get her some ibuprofen. I went to go get her some and I came back to find her crying saying that her head hurt. After I gave it to her she went with her daddy. They came back and she was doing fine. She never said anything about her head hurting again. She did take a little nap, which is weird because she doesn't take naps that much anymore. I never though anything about it, just thought she was being lazy today plus thought it was the ibuprofen kicking in. We were about to leave to go to her end of the soccer season party and I gave her a hug and she felt a little hot, not real hot, just warm. So I gave her some more ibuprofen. We went to Pizza Inn and she was fine, laughing with all the other little girls and even ate a lot of pizza, cheese and black olives. We had to run to Home Depot for something and she never said a word about how she was feeling. We got home around 8:00 or so and she started crying saying that she couldn't bend over because her head hurt. I told her to go lay down and I put a cold wash cloth on her head. She kept saying that her head hurt. I couldn't give her anything because I just gave her something around 4:00. I have taken her temp about 6 times now and every time I have taken it, it goes up and she keeps saying that her head hurts. This is the same thing that happen to Nolan last weekend. He never said his head was hurting, but he was running fever Saturday and Sunday. I hope my little girl is o.k. I guess we will be at the after hours tomorrow, I hope not, but I am guessing that we will be there.

Went to work today and even a date!

Well, I felt much better this morning so I decided that I would head off to work. When I got to work I was worn out. Here is just a run down of what I did this morning, I got up early took a shower, got Mamie ready for school, took her to school, came back picked up Nolan, took him to daycare and was off to work. I know why I got worn out now. I left work around 3:30 picked up the children, came home gave them baths and then took them to Parents Night Out at Church. Kyle and I had a nice dinner at Biaggi's, it was pretty good, it was just nice to sit down with Kyle and have a conversation without little ones running around. We go to lunch a lot, but it is a little different having a nice dinner with your husband. I guess at lunch we rush through and talk about work stuff and at dinner we have time to enjoy what we are eating and what each other is saying. We got back to the church and all the children were on the play ground, they were all yelling, laughing and having a great time. Nolan was sweating and running around and Mamie was about to fall asleep walking to the car. It didn't take them long to fall asleep. As you can see I had a full day today and I am worn out, but I can't sleep. My body is telling me to go to sleep because I need to rest, but my mind I guess is not ready for that right now. We have a full weekend as well ahead of us, cleaning house, soccer party and maybe a dirt bike race out-of-town. I am off on Monday and I am looking forward to a little sewing. I have some of the cutest fabric and I can't wait to start Mamie's dresses or shorts or a pair of pants. I haven't made up my mind on what to make for her, but for Nolan it is all shorts. I will have to take some pictures and show off my sewing. It is not the best in the world, but it does hold up to a 5 1/2 year old little girl and a rough 2 1/2 year old boy. Anyway, I guess I am off to bed to read or just play on the computer. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Update on me

Everything went fine this morning. I am just getting back and I am ready to get something to eat, take my meds and go to sleep. The only part I hated was the needle for the IV, well the first sweet nurse stuck me twice in my right hand and of course my vain rolled, then she went and got another sweet nurse and she stuck me twice in my left hand. OH, DID I TELL YOU I HATE NEEDLES. I was trying so hard to be strong, but tears were running like a river down my cheeks. The first nurse was so sweet, she got a wash cloth, a very cold one at that and washed my face off. She gave me a kiss on the forehead and just kept saying "i am so sorry baby girl", made feel like my own mother was there. Anyway, the second nurse finally got the IV in and I felt much better. I started getting a headache before I went back because I haven't eaten since 8:00 last night and with all the perfume in the waiting area and all the laughing and cutting up in the holding area my head was pounding. The first nurse was so nice she got me something for it and I went to sleep. I don't remember anything after that. So I am home now eating dry toast and ice feeling a little out of it, but doing fine. I just told a friend that I am going to pass a law NO PERFUME in the waiting areas. I don't understand that, why do you have to wear perfume when people don't feel so hot anyway and then they have to smell that stuff. I wear perfume sometimes, but I do consider others when wearing because what I like, might not be something someone else likes. JUST DON'T WEAR IT TO HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VERY MINOR SURGERY

Tomorrow morning around 7:15 a.m. I will be heading to Baptist Hospital for VERY MINOR SURGERY which will take place around 8:00. I just need some prayers said around that time that everything goes smoothly. I know that it will, I am just one of those persons that worry about everything and anything. Long story short, my middle sister and I were in a very bad car wreak years ago and I was left with stitches in my head, hands and some on my legs. She walked out of it, but it was me that was in the hospital for about a week or so, with all kinds of surgeries on my hands and then months of physical therapy for my right hand to be normal again. I just wonder if she thinks about it as much as I do. I guess that is something I have never asked her. Something I don't really like to think about until it comes to when I have to go to a hospital for anything. I mean anything, even when I gave birth to both children. I knew I was going to have the children, I just didn't like knowing I was going to a hospital. I don't like hospitals, waiting areas in hospitals or anything having to do with hospitals. I don't like needles, IVs and anything having to do with things like that either. I just gave blood about a month or so ago because it was going to a little boy that needed it, I didn't have to think about it I just went a gave. Kyle and I went to MS Blood Services and of course right when I got there I started getting nervous, but I did fine. Funny thing is I was finished way before Kyle was and he started before me. Anyway, I am sure I will be just fine tomorrow, no need to worry, because I have everyone beat in that department. Just say a little prayer for me around 8:00 tomorrow morning. They say I am third up, so who knows when I will be done. It is the waiting that is going to drive me crazy, plus no eating after midnight tonight. Oh, well look out Kyle, no coffee for me in the morning........

Oh, what a wonderful day!!

We had such a wonderful day, I really hated to see it come to an end. I had to go to Target this morning so Mamie and Nolan tagged along with me, while Kyle stayed in bed (lucky thing). Then we loaded the truck up with the old rails from the deck to take to the dump. O.K. let me tell you this, if you don't have to go to the dump please don't. Kyle thought we were helping the garbage men out, but it would have cost us around $38.00 just to dump the stuff ourselves. The guy at the gate was nice enough and didn't charge us this time. Anyway, up to the dump site we go, well the closer we got the smell got worst, then it got even worst Nolan got sick all over himself. I hate to say it I was kind of funny though he just got sick off of the smell. O.K. I am not laughing because he got sick, I guess it is one of those things you had to be there. Mamie just kept saying oh, momma it stinks, it stinks. Now she is laying right beside me and just said "oh, momma I am never going back to that dump, poor little Nolan". O.K. enough of the dump, after we got back we planted our flowers and started cleaning up the front and back yard. Mamie helped, she would bring me the flowers she wanted to plant and then she would pile on the dirt. Nolan just played around, he got a little worn out and Mamie helped him get in the swing, got him a pillow and beach towel and he almost went to sleep, but he didn't. We stayed outside the entire day. Mamie and I headed to the store to get something for dinner. We got back to find Nolan asleep and Kyle sitting out back. I didn't let Nolan sleep long because I knew if I did he wouldn't go to sleep until late tonight. Kyle gave him a bath and we thought he would go straight back to sleep, but things aren't looking to good right now. Mamie and Nolan started a movie 101 Dalmatians. Nolan came in the den and his little eyes were watering. I didn't think anything of it just thought he was sleepy, he just kept whining, Kyle said "see if he has fever" and sure enough my little man has fever. Mamie has fallen asleep watching her movie, my mother sent it to her and she has watched it about 10 times since last Friday. She watched it twice last Saturday, once or twice Sunday and every day before going to school. Then I think she watched it once or twice when she got home from school. Well, we had a great day, just sad that Nolan is not feeling too well. I am hoping that he is just worn out from a big day of playing. I hope everyone stayed outside and enjoyed this wonderful day like we did.
