NO MORE PULL UPS!!!
Mamie is out of pull ups at night and I am sooooooooo happy about that. A year ago or so Mamie wanted to try and stop wearing them at night, but she would have an accident in the middle of the night and come get in my bed. Anyway, this past Sunday she came running in my room and said she didn't have anymore pull ups. I said well just go get one of Nolans and I will get you some tomorrow. So she came back in my room with big tears in her eyes and said this things are too small, I don't want to wear them. I said well you don't have any and I am not going to the store at this time of night to get you any. She started crying just a little bit more. Then she looked up at me with her BIG BLUE eyes and said you know what, I want to try and get out of these pull ups once and for all. So she ran off and told Kyle about it. She was so happy about it. My sister and I were talking about this over Christmas because her little girl was and is going through the samething. She said what she would do is make her go to the potty before bedtime and then she would wake her up and walk her into the bathroom around 12 or so and make her sit on the potty (now the child had no idea she was doing this), then she would do it again around 3 or so. Margaret Ellis no longer wears them. So Mamie had in her mind she wanted to do the same thing. So this past week we have been doing just that. Making her go around 11 or so, then again around 2 and it has worked. She has been so happy in the morning that her bed isn't wet and she doesn't have a pull up on. Last night Nolan fell asleep with us and I put him in his bed around 12:30, so I got Mamie up and walked her to the potty. Is is so funny to watch her walk in there, she doesn't even know she is walking. I or we forgot to get her back up around 3, I was so worried she had an accident, so I walked in her room to wake her up and she said very happily I MADE IT ALL NIGHT LONG AND DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO GET UP AND GO TO THE POTTY. I just laughed and asked her if she didn't remember me getting her up and going and she said no. So no more pull ups for my BIG girl. Now it is time for Nolan to get out of the dang things. He has dry ones for about 3 nights in a row, then it is down hill from there. Doctor says he still is a little young. Other times we have tried is because we have said it is time to get out of them, but I am just so proud of Mamie, once she made her mind up she wanted to get out of them she did it.

Thank you for visiting my blog!!
I love Suzanne and miss seeing her at church :(
Good for Mamie!!! It was really, really hard for Laura Grace to stop wetting at night and we ended up doing the same thing as you because a friend clued me in lol. It worked for LG, after about two weeks of waking her up we stopped and she has been dry ever since. Well...I take that back. Even at age five she has an occasionaly accident-it is usually due to a nightmare or she is coming down with something.
Layton isn't potty trained at all yet and I am dreading getting started!
That is awesome!!! I sure wish I could get Hayden out of them. He would be so proud, but he rarely is dry in the mornings. We aren't ready yet...
Congrats to Mamie! I know you are relieved!
